Introduction
The Silk Road Scholarship Program of the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) aligns with the Belt and Road Initiative and is designed to cultivate talented individuals with broad international perspectives, high-quality education, and cross-cultural backgrounds. This program is officially managed by the China Scholarship Council.
The available master’s programs include:
- International Business and Cross-border E-commerce
- Public Administration (Custom Management)
- WTO Laws and Economics (2-year English-taught Master’s program)

Eligibility
To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Non-Chinese citizenship and be under the age of 35 with good physical and psychological health.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher; applicants with relevant educational or professional background are preferred.
- Good English proficiency for courses taught in English.
- High potential for professional development and a willingness to foster communication and cooperation between China and other countries.
Application Procedures
- Applicants must submit their application through the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System at studyinchina.csc.edu.cn. Select Type B for the program category and enter Agency No.: 10036.
- Applicants should send the required documents to uibescholarship@163.com with the subject line: UIBE + Silk Road. The documents should be identical to those submitted via the CSC system.
- Upload clear PDF scans of your documents. Unclear or substandard documents will NOT be reviewed. Hard copies are not accepted.
- All documents must be submitted by April 30th.
Application Documents
Applicants must submit the following scanned documents:
- Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form (in Chinese or English).
- Photocopy of the first page of the passport (Must be a regular passport with expiration after September 30, 2025).
- Copies of notarized Bachelor’s degree certificates and other highest degree certificates (in Chinese or English).
- Copies of notarized academic transcripts (in Chinese or English).
- Study Proposal (Minimum 1000 words, written in English; should include professional background, research interests, and academic plans).
- Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors, including their contact information (phone and email) and the letter’s date of issue.
- TOEFL (minimum score: 86) or IELTS (minimum score: 6.0) certificate, or other official proof of English proficiency. If the previous degree was taught in English, provide an official certificate stating the medium of instruction was English.
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form, valid for 6 months (written in English). Ensure all required fields are completed, and the form is signed and stamped by the attending physician and the hospital.
- Certificate of Non-Criminal Record, issued within 6 months prior to submission.
Note:
- Applicants can only apply for one program under the CSC scholarship.
- Scanned documents are sufficient for the online application; original copies are required for university registration. All documents must be original or notarized copies in Chinese or English.
