The history of Turkish-Chinese relations is full of significant political and cultural exchanges. Through the Silk Road, the two nations had their first contacts in the second century BCE. Through trade routes, Turks and Chinese participated in important economic and cultural exchanges during this time. In 1971, China and Turkey established contemporary diplomatic ties by the 20th century. Both nations still take a united stand today, especially in opposition to Western hegemony and power politics.

The Sino-Turkish Studies platform is a multifaceted initiative that aims to strengthen the social, cultural, and economic ties between Türkiye and China, primarily within an academic framework. Our goal is to provide up-to-date and comprehensive information to those in Türkiye and around the world who wish to understand China better, thereby deepening mutual understanding and dialogue between the two nations.

Our platform delves into China’s economic development strategies, especially initiatives shaping the new international order like the Belt and Road Initiative and BRICS, and their implications for Türkiye. It also highlights the depth of historical relations between the two nations and examines how this bond has evolved, focusing on collaborations in culture, trade, and diplomacy. Moreover, we aim to provide the Chinese audience with a clearer understanding of Türkiye’s regional and international political, military, and cultural interactions. One of the most significant challenges in mutual understanding between Türkiye and China is the reliance on Western-centric resources. The primary mission of Turkish-Chinese Studies is to offer a meaningful and direct alternative to this issue.

Beyond this, we explore China’s rapidly advancing technological infrastructure, breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, and developments in other innovative industries.

Additionally, we analyze global developments, particularly in the Asia-Pacific, and their impact on Turkish-Chinese relations. By doing so, we aim to foster a better understanding of China’s role as a regional and global power and assess Türkiye’s engagement with these dynamics.

Our platform was established to open a new chapter in Turkish-Chinese relations, fostering trust and collaboration, enhancing knowledge exchange, and building a robust communication bridge between the two countries. It aspires to contribute to the mutual recognition and understanding of both nations.

Turkish-Chinese Studies publishes content in English and Turkish and aims to expand into Chinese on various platforms in the future.

Amidst the shifting international order and the fight against the prevailing hegemonic structures, Türkiye and China, located at the westernmost and easternmost ends of Asia, share a common stance, laying the groundwork for strategic cooperation. With their historical experiences, emphasis on independence, and belief in a multipolar world order, both nations advocate for the creation of alternatives in political, economic, and cultural domains.

In this context, Türkiye and China oppose unilateral policies and impositions, playing a significant role in shaping a new international order based on mutual respect, sovereignty, and fair cooperation. By increasing multidimensional integration between the two nations and fostering a broad-based partnership through cultural and diplomatic dialogues, Türkiye and China offer a developmental model and a new vision of cooperation for the developing world.

The website “sinoturkistudies.com,” the central hub of Turkish-Chinese Studies, serves as an essential tool to achieve this mission.
