ZJUT – China Government Scholarship Program

The Chinese government offers international students, scholars, and researchers scholarship programs to promote multinational cooperation in various fields, academic exchanges, and cultural interactions.

These scholarships are managed by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), authorized by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Currently, 289 Chinese universities offer academic programs in various fields, such as science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, law, management, education, history, literature, philosophy, and fine arts.

Scholarship Programs

  1. Bilateral Agreement Program (Type A)

This program is based on academic and cultural cooperation agreements between China and other countries. It is open to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students and scholars wishing to conduct general and advanced academic research in China. Applicants must apply through the authorized institutions in their home countries.

Application Deadline: April 15

Steps to Obtain Type A Pre-Admission Document:

  • Send your application number to ischolarship@zjut.edu.cn
    Note: Please get in touch with us before applying for undergraduate programs. Only Chinese-taught undergraduate programs are eligible for application.
  1. University Program (Type B) – Master’s and Doctoral Programs

Application Deadline: February 25, 2025

Scholarship Duration:

  • Master’s: 2.5 – 3 years
  • Doctoral: 4 years

Scholarship Coverage:

  • Tuition fee exemption
  • Accommodation or accommodation assistance
  • Monthly living expenses:
    • Master’s: 3,000 RMB/month
    • Doctoral: 3,500 RMB/month
  • Annual health insurance: 800 RMB

Application Systems:

  • CSC System
  • ZJUT System

Application Requirements:

  • Must not be a citizen of the People’s Republic of China and must be physically and mentally healthy.
  • For master’s programs: Must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 35 years old.
  • For doctoral programs, One must hold a master’s degree and be under 40.
  • Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must have at least HSK 4-level proficiency.

Required Documents:

  • Valid Passport Copy
  • Certified Diploma or Temporary Graduation Certificate
  • Academic Transcripts
  • Language Proficiency Certificates (HSK, IELTS, TOEFL, etc.)
  • Admission Letter (if available)
  • Study Plan (at least 1000 words)
  • 2 reference letters (from professors or associate professors)
  • Legal guardian documents for applicants under 18
  • Health report (must be issued within the last 6 months)
  • Criminal Record Certificate

Application Process:

  1. Register using the ZJUT application system and upload the required documents.
  2. The university reviews the applications and issues pre-admission letters to suitable candidates.
  3. Complete the scholarship application using the CSC system and submit the necessary documents.
  4. The university selects the candidate list, which the CSC will approve.
  5. Final results are announced on the CSC system.
