Tianjin Normal University “Silk Road” CSC Program

About the Program

The “Silk Road” CSC Program at Tianjin Normal University (TJNU) is dedicated to cultivating future industry leaders and highly skilled professionals from countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. Leveraging our strengths in international Chinese education, TJNU offers a unique dual-focused platform that integrates “Chinese Language + Academic Disciplines.”

Our goal is to foster global-minded talents equipped with deep Chinese cultural understanding and practical expertise in priority areas, including:

  • Public mental health services
  • Geographic disaster prevention and mitigation
  • New energy development
  • Artificial intelligence innovation

Graduates are expected to become not only specialists in their fields but also effective cross-cultural communicators who promote mutual understanding and friendship with China.

Program Highlights

1. Applied Psychology, Developmental and Educational Psychology
TJNU’s Faculty of Psychology, guided by Professor Shen Deli’s philosophy of “Virtue as the Foundation,” emphasizes advanced experimental technology and interdisciplinary research. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including fMRI, MEG, and fNIRS labs, the faculty focuses on national mental health research and professional training. The “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Mental Health and Social Governance Center” was established during the 14th Five-Year Plan to provide top-tier research resources.

2. Natural Geography
This program explores climate change and human impact on hydrology, coastal environments, and disaster risks in the Bohai Rim region. Research topics include seawater-groundwater interactions, pollutant migration, natural disaster modeling, and early warning systems—all aimed at advancing disaster risk management technologies.

3. Chemistry (Energy Materials)
Focusing on clean and efficient materials for energy storage and conversion, this interdisciplinary program covers lithium/sodium-ion batteries, fuel cells, solar cells, and supercapacitors. Students will gain expertise from material design to industrial applications, helping address global energy and environmental challenges.

4. Mathematics
Recognized as a priority field by China’s Ministry of Education, the program excels in pure and applied mathematics, with strong integration into AI, smart healthcare, computational optics, and brain science. Collaborative projects with Belt and Road countries aim to solve global scientific and industrial problems.
