Xinjiang Denies the West’s Lies

The Uyghur region in China contains a story of development, cultural richness, and social harmony. The experiences we saw and lived on-site for 10 days completely invalidate the lies of the West.

During our 10-day trip to the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in China, we took three planes and more than 10 bus trips. We tried to understand the economic and social structure of the region by visiting many cities and counties, especially Urumqi, Turpan, Altay, Yining, and Changji.

Xinjiang is located northwest of China, in the heart of Eurasia. It covers an area of 1.6 million square kilometers. It borders eight countries: Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.

The length of the region’s land borders exceeds 5,700 kilometers, making it the largest administrative region in China in terms of surface area. It also has the most neighboring countries and the longest land border with them.

COLORFUL ETHNIC AND RELIGIOUS STRUCTURE

The region has 56 ethnic groups, including Uyghurs, Han, Kazakhs, Mongols, Hui, Kyrgyz, Manchus, Tajiks, Uzbeks, Tatars, and Russians. According to the latest official census, 25.8 million people were living in the region as of the end of 2021.

The main religions in Xinjiang include Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, and Catholic and Orthodox Christianity. The region has a strict religious freedom policy that legally protects believers’ religious needs and their right to practice their rituals.

SOLID PROGRESS IN THE ECONOMY

The region’s gross domestic product is expected to reach 1.91 trillion yuan (about $270 billion) in 2023, up 6.8 percent from the previous year. Based on its underground resources and geographical advantage, the Chinese state focuses on creating “eight major industrial clusters” in the region, developing its innovation system, and creating a modern industrial structure with regional characteristics. The main ones are industrial clusters such as oil, gas, and chemical industries, metallurgy, nonferrous metals, and new energy.

CIA-CENTERED BLACK PROPAGANDA AND THE FACTS

Last year, the region hosted 265 million tourists, and local government officials told us they earned 296.7 billion yuan in tourism revenue from here. It is easy to say that nearly 300 million tourists have come to a region where the West is carrying out so-called “genocide” black propaganda! How many tourists have visited Gaza in the last year?

Those who “treat Xinjiang like Gaza” and act with the so-called “genocide” lies of the West-centered black propaganda are, unfortunately, supporting American plans. We feel the need to state all of these because we want those who want to alienate our country’s people from China and undermine our state’s relations with China to see and understand them.

Xinjiang is one of the subjects of the miraculous economic and social development China has experienced in the last 70 years. The region contains a growth story, cultural richness, and social harmony. These experiences we have seen and lived on-site for 10 days invalidate the West’s statements.

China’s investments in Xinjiang and the peaceful environment provided in the region contribute not only to China but also to the area and the world becoming a better and safer place. All of us are responsible for telling these truths and acting with the right information against black propaganda.

We hope you will find these truths in this 4-day article series where we try to explain our 10-day visit, both in our articles and in the beautiful photographs taken freely by valuable Aykut Töleğen, without any local authorities intervening.
