Application and Tuition Fees
- Application Fee: RMB 800 (non-refundable).
- Tuition Fee: Depends on the specific program; refer to the official catalog.
- Payment Method: Online payment via the ZJU system or bank transfer to the University account.
Eligibility
Citizenship
- Non-Chinese citizens holding a valid foreign passport.
- Applicants who have renounced Chinese citizenship must submit official proof.
- Applicants born abroad to Chinese parents must provide documents showing permanent foreign residence of parents before birth.
General Requirements
- Under 40 years old at the time of application.
- Holder of a Master’s degree.
- Good moral character and physical health.
- Meet the language proficiency requirements (Chinese or English).

- Highest degree certificate
- Official transcripts from Bachelor’s and Master’s studies
- Language proficiency certificate (HSK or IELTS/TOEFL)
- Personal statement in Chinese or English (minimum 1500 words)
- Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors
- Form for Provisional Acceptance of International Student by ZJU Supervisor (if applicable)
- Published papers or academic achievements (if applicable)
- Documents proving cancellation of Chinese citizenship (if applicable)
- For applicants born abroad to Chinese parents: proof of citizenship and parents’ permanent residence abroad
- Self-Statement of Nationality Status and Guarantee Letter
Admission and Notification
- After a preliminary review, applicants will be invited to attend an online interview.
- Admission decisions are based on academic performance, research potential, and language ability.
- Admission results will be released at the end of July 2026.
- Admission notices and visa forms will be provided electronically via email (no paper copies).
- Applicants are responsible for checking emails and updates on the official website regularly.
Registration
- Registration will begin at the end of August 2026.
- Admitted students must present original degree certificates, transcripts, and language certificates on site.
- Failure to provide originals will lead to disqualification.
- Students are not allowed to hold multiple student statuses in Chinese universities.

Medical Insurance
- Fee: RMB 800 per academic year
According to the Ministry of Education’s regulations, all international students must purchase comprehensive medical insurance while studying in mainland China.
Students who fail to do so will not be allowed to register.

Accommodation information and dormitory arrangements will be announced on the International College website under the section Current Student → Accommodation.
