📘 Program Overview
The WIPO–China Summer School on Intellectual Property (IP), co-organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL), will be held in Chongqing, China, from June 30 to July 11, 2025.
This two-week intensive program offers senior students and young professionals the opportunity to deepen their understanding of intellectual property systems while exploring WIPO’s roles and global functions.
🌱 Program Theme
The central theme of this year’s Summer School is:
“High-Quality Development and Intellectual Property Rights Protection”
Participants will explore the critical role of IP in supporting innovation-driven, high-quality economic development. Key topics include:
- Patent protection
- Copyright and digital rights
- Trademark law
- Anti-unfair competition
- International IP enforcement mechanisms
The curriculum highlights the interaction between IP and other fields such as trade, technology, business strategy, and public policy.
📚 Curriculum
The academic structure combines:
- Expert-led lectures
- Real-world case studies
- Interactive group discussions
- On-site field visits to relevant institutions or enterprises
This integrated approach enables participants to engage with both the theoretical and practical dimensions of IP law and policy.

The program is open to:
- Graduate and postgraduate students
- Young professionals from any academic background
- Applicants who already have prior knowledge of IP
Certificate of Participation
To receive a certificate, participants must:
- Attend all sessions
- Actively contribute to group projects and discussions
- Keep their camera on at all times if attending online
Prerequisite Course
All applicants must have successfully completed the WIPO General Course on Intellectual Property (DL-101) before the registration deadline.
Priority will be given to those who meet this requirement.
