Admission Category
This admission is for international students applying for degree programs. Full-time degree programs include Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs.

Eligible Countries
The scholarship is primarily open to applicants from South and Southeast Asian countries, but applicants from other countries are also welcome.

Application Eligibility and Major Requirements

1. Applicants must be citizens of countries other than China and be physically and mentally healthy.
2. Applicants must abide by Chinese laws, comply with Yunnan University’s regulations, and respect Chinese customs and public ethical norms.
3. Applicants’ health conditions must conform to the “Health Examination Standards for Foreign Students” issued by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.
4. Academic and Age Requirements:
   (1) Applicants for bachelor’s degree programs must hold a high school graduation certificate or above, with HSK Level 4 or higher, and be under 25.
   (2) Applicants for master’s degree programs must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with HSK Level 4 or higher, and be under 35.
   (3) Applicants for doctoral degree programs must hold a master’s degree or equivalent, with HSK Level 4 or higher, and be under 40.

Admission Procedure

1. Online Application
   Applicants should download and complete the Application Form for the Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship (available in Chinese or English) by visiting https://web.ymu.edu.cn/gjxy/index.htm. Then, complete the online application on the International Students Application System of YMU at https://ynni.at0086.cn/StuApplication/login.aspx. The following necessary documents must be provided:
   • (1) Application Form for Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship (downloadable at: https://web.ymu.edu.cn/gjxy/xzzx.htm)
   • (2) Application Form for International Students at YMU (to be printed after completing the online application)
   • (3) Scanned copy of a valid passport (must be valid for at least six months)
   • (4) Scanned copies of notarized highest degree certificates, diplomas, and transcripts in Chinese or English. Applicants must provide a study or employment certification if they are currently students or have been employed. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must include notarized translations in either Chinese or English
   • (5) Scanned copies of HSK Level 4 certificate or higher
   • (6) Two recommendation letters written in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors (required for postgraduate applicants)
   • (7) Study plan or research proposal written in Chinese or English (minimum 1,000 words)
   • (8) Scanned copies of the Physical Examination Record for Foreigners
   • (9) Scanned copies of Non-criminal Certificates issued by authorities
2. Examination and Interview
   Yunnan Minzu University will examine and review all documents and conduct interviews with applicants who pass the initial evaluation. The university will then recommend the applicants to the Education Ministry of Yunnan Province based on their performance.
3. Final Admission Decision
   The Education Ministry of Yunnan Province will review the recommended applicants and decide on admission.

Admission Decision and Offer

1. Admitted international students should promptly apply for an X1 Visa and register at the International School of Yunnan Minzu University with all original application materials and documents specified in the admission notice.
2. Students who fail to register within two weeks after the deadline without any explanation will forfeit their admission qualifications to Yunnan Minzu University, and the scholarship will not be reserved.
