Fudan University invites global learners to apply for the 2025 International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, funded by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC). This scholarship supports students interested in Chinese language and literature, aspiring Chinese teachers, and those preparing for the MTCSOL (Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages) program.
✅ Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be non-Chinese citizens;
- Show a positive attitude toward China and have no criminal record;
- Comply with Chinese laws and the university’s regulations;
- Be in good physical and mental health, and maintain strong academic and behavioral records;
- Have a genuine interest in Chinese language education;
- Be aged 16 to 35 as of September 1, 2025 (the upper limit may be extended to 45 for in-service Chinese language teachers).
🎓 Scholarship Categories & Requirements
A. One-Year Chinese Language Study Scholarship
- Start Date: September 2025
- Duration: Up to 11 months
- Eligibility:
- Not have received the same scholarship in the last 3 years
- Minimum HSK Level 3 score of 210
- Valid HSKK (speaking) score
B. One-Semester Chinese Language & Literature Scholarship
- Start Date: September 2025 or March 2026
- Duration: Up to 5 months
- Eligibility:
- Not have received the same scholarship in the last 3 years
- Minimum HSK Level 3 score of 180
- Valid HSKK score
📅 Important Deadlines (Beijing Time)
- For programs starting in September 2025: Apply by May 15, 2025
- For programs starting in March 2026: Apply by October 31, 2025

Be sure to choose Fudan University as your first choice. - Upload all required documents and track your application progress.
CLEC will review applications through an expert panel. Results are typically announced three months before the semester begins. - If accepted, confirm enrollment with the host institution and follow registration instructions provided in your admission letter.
📑 Application Checklist
- A scanned copy of your passport photo page
- Applicants under 18: a guardian authorization letter signed by a legal guardian in China
- HSK and HSKK score reports (within 2-year validity)
- A recommendation letter from the head of your recommending institution
- For in-service Chinese teachers: proof of employment + employer’s reference letter
- If you’ve received a Chinese Bridge Scholarship Certificate, upload it with your application on the scholarship portal
