🌟 About Wenzhou Medical University (WMU)
Wenzhou Medical University (WMU), located in Zhejiang Province, is a provincially governed institution established in 2015 through a collaboration between the Zhejiang Provincial Government, the National Health Commission, and the Ministry of Education. By 2017, it had been recognized as a Priority Development University, and in 2023, it was selected as a High-Level University under construction in Zhejiang.
WMU ranks 72nd in the ESI Chinese University Rankings, with 14 disciplines in the top 1% worldwide. Notably, Clinical Medicine, Pharmacology, and Toxicology are among its globally top-ranked disciplines.
The university has also earned top honors domestically and internationally:
- 5th among independent medical colleges in the 2024 Wushulian Ranking
- 501–600 band in the 2024 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU)

✅ 1. Admission Requirements
General Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health.
- Meet the age and academic criteria for the chosen program:

Language Proficiency
- For English-taught programs:
- Non-native English speakers must submit one of the following:
- TOEFL ≥70 (minimum 15 per section)
- IELTS ≥6.0 (minimum 5.0 per section)
- Duolingo English Test ≥105
- Native speakers or applicants with English-medium prior education must submit a certificate of English as the medium of instruction.
- Non-native English speakers must submit one of the following:
- For Clinical Master’s Programs:
- HSK Level 4 with a score ≥180, or equivalent Chinese language proof.
📄 2. Application Documents
Applicants must upload the following documents to the WMU application portal (items marked * are mandatory):
- Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form
- Valid passport (photo page)
- Notarized highest diploma or proof of expected graduation
- Academic transcripts (Chinese/English translation if applicable)
- Language proficiency certificate
- Study or research proposal (in Chinese or English)
- Two academic recommendation letters (signed and sealed)
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form (valid within 6 months)
- Non-criminal record certificate (issued within 6 months)
- Two-inch passport photo with white background
- Additional supporting materials (if applicable)
🎓 3. Scholarship Coverage

- All recipients are responsible for their accommodation, insurance, and other personal expenses.

📌 Note: The application will be processed only after the non-refundable fee of CNY 400 is paid.
📌 Applicants who previously applied for the Chinese Government Scholarship must choose a different supervisor for reapplication.
