Applicants must log in to the “Chinese Government Scholarship Management Information System for Studying in China” (http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn#/register) to complete the registration and fill in the application information. (Please enter “10755” for the accepting institution number and select “B” for the type of study abroad program). At the same time, applicants must log in to the “Xinjiang University Administrative Platform” (http://xjuat0086.cnStuApplicationLogin.aspx) to complete their application. The School of International Cultural Exchange at Xinjiang University reserves the right to disregard the application materials if the applicant fails to do so.
Applicants must fill in and submit the following application materials in either Chinese or English:
- Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form
- A copy of the applicant’s passport personal information page
- A recent personal photo (bare-headed, 2-inch electronic photo)
- Certified highest degree academic certificate (for documents in languages other than Chinese or English, a notarized translation in Chinese or English must be provided)
- Certified highest degree academic transcript (for documents in languages other than Chinese or English, a notarized translation in Chinese or English must be provided)
- Study and research plan in China (no less than 800 words)
- Letters of recommendation from two professors or associate professors in the applicant’s field of study
- Admission Documents: For postgraduate or academic education as a general or senior advanced student, applicants must provide the admission documents issued by their preferred university, including an admission letter, a pre-admission letter, or an invitation letter from a prospective supervisor (Admission documents will be prioritized when granting the Chinese Government Scholarship)
Xinjiang University will organize experts to conduct a preliminary screening of the applicant’s materials and arrange online interviews to select candidates. The results will be submitted to the Department of Education of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the State Scholarship Commission for examination and approval before making the final decision.
The University will send the final admission notice, visa application form for foreign students in China (Form W201), and other admission materials to scholarship recipients by early July.
Each scholarship winner may only receive one subsidy from the Chinese Government Scholarship Program. For applicants admitted by multiple universities, the scholarship committee will award the scholarship to only one university.
Once admitted, scholarship recipients cannot change their enrollment institution. Moreover, the major and study duration cannot be changed, in principle.
Scholarships will not be reserved for applicants who cannot register in China before the enrollment deadline.
Note: Xinjiang University does not charge intermediary fees for recruiting Chinese Government Scholarship students.
