About the Program

The “Ocean Dreams” 2025 International Summer School, hosted by the School of Ocean and Civil Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), brings together global talents for an exciting academic adventure.
This program is all about 🌍 international collaboration, 🚀 cutting-edge research, and 🔬 interdisciplinary learning. Using top-tier resources from SJTU and its partners, it creates a platform where students, experts, and scholars from all over the world can exchange ideas, explore new research frontiers, and build lasting connections.

Over the past 17 editions, “Ocean Dreams” has welcomed more than 1,000 students and scholars from countries like the U.S., U.K., Japan, South Korea, India, Australia, and beyond!
Who Can Apply? 👩🎓👨🎓
If you’re a Master’s or PhD student — or a senior undergraduate (3rd year or above) — specializing in:
- Marine and Ocean Engineering
- Mechanics
- Civil Engineering
- Transportation Engineering
- Or related fields
…you’re eligible to join! 🌍
Only about 80 students will be selected by an expert review committee based on submitted documents. 📝

Fees & Scholarships 💰
Program Fees
- Course materials and organized visits: Free
- Travel, meals, and accommodation (~150 RMB/day, twin room): Participant’s responsibility
Accommodation will be arranged by the program team.
Scholarship Opportunities 🎓
To encourage participation, scholarships will be awarded to over 30% of students.
(But remember, you can’t combine this with other scholarships!)
