SLUShanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLU) is a public full-time general higher education institution offering distinctive accounting and finance programs. It was formed in June 2016 by amalgamating Shanghai Lixin University of Commerce and Shanghai Finance University. The university traces its roots back to the Lixin education founded by Dr. Pan Xulun, a renowned educator, accounting expert, and the “father of modern accounting in China” in 1928. Running for around 100 years, it has been hailed as one of the birthplaces of modern accounting education in China and the cradle of future financiers. In 2022, AACSB International awarded the School of Business and Administration full five-year accreditation.

SLU currently has three campuses in Pudons, Songiang, and Xuhui, respectively, covering an area of more than 1,200 mu (about 800,000 square meters). More than 19,000 full-time students, including over 370 graduate students, are in the university. The university has three master’s degree programs and 40 undergraduate majors. There are more than 1,630 faculty and staff members, among whom over 1,240 are full-time teachers. More than 460 full-time teachers have senior professional titles, and over 700 full-time teachers have doctoral degrees.

Eligibility Basic Requirements:

1. Non-Chinese citizens are in good health.
2. Applicants for undergraduate programs must be at least 18 years old and no more than 40 years old, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
3. Applicants for the Shanghai Government Scholarship for International Students must be no more than 25 years old and not eligible for other Chinese government scholarships simultaneously.
4. International students who are immigrants living in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan with foreign nationality or whose parents) is (are) Chinese citizen(s) living in a foreign country and who obtained their foreign nationality at the time of birth, shall have an effective foreign passport or certificate of nationality for at least four years and have in recent four years (as of April 30th, 2025 lived outside China for two years Nine months of living outside China in a year shall be deemed one year of living abroad, subject to entry and exit seals).Language Requirements:
5. Application for an academic program taught in Chinese: In addition to general application materials, international students must submit a certificate of HSK4 or higher.
6. Application for an academic program taught in English, the English language proficiency must meet one of the following requirements:
   (1) Native or official language.
   (2) IELTS score above 6.0 (inclusive), TOEFL score above 80 (inclusive), or equivalent English proficiency level.

7. The duration of the full-time undergraduate program for international students is 4 years, and the study period in the program ranges from 3 to 6 years, including the time for suspension with academic status not removed.

1. SLU international Undergraduate programs, please apply through the “Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance International Student Application Website”. Please save your username and password. If you have any questions, please refer to the enrollment guide.

2. Shanghai Government Scholarship for International Students, please submit the online application at “Study in Shanghai” https://edu.sh.gov.cn/study_cn/.
3. After the online submission, please check the “Inbox” within the platform timely and supplement relevant materials as required.
   
   Pay Application fee
   
   Please transfer the application fee of RMB 400 and submit the payment receipt to the system after the preliminary review. You can pay your application fees in person at SLU or through a bank transfer.

   Pre-admission interview
4. The admission examination is conducted by applicants submitting videos, focusing on evaluating their overall qualities and language proficiency.
   2. Video content: Applicants must record a 3-5 minute video for self-introduction, including personal information about SLU, professional knowledge and study plan, living and learning ability under the background of Chinese culture, interests and hobbies, etc.
   Admission
5. Admission criteria: Applicants will be admitted based on their interview performance, high school scores, and other performance.
6. Admission Result: Applicants can check the admission result on the application system or at https://Ixlx.lixin.edu.cn/. The admission result will not be communicated via phone call.
7. Distribution of admission materials: The admitted students will receive the Admission Notice and other admission materials issued by the school. At the same time, they must download the Visa Application for Study in China (JW202 Form) from the system.
8. Admitted Shanghai Government Scholarship holders shall apply for a visa at the Chinese embassy or consulate-general in their countries with a valid passport, Visa Application for Study in China (JW202 Form), Admission Notice of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance and Physical Examination Record for Foreigners, and register within the period specified by SLU. Otherwise, it would be deemed a scholarship waiver.
   Accommodation
   SLU offers two room types for international students: Double room and Quad room. Air conditioning, beds, desks, and wardrobes are provided in the rooms. The dormitory has public bathrooms, toilets, and laundry rooms. Admitted students can make room reservations in the registration system. Accommodation costs are detailed in the table below.
