Chinese Government Scholarship – High-Level Postgraduates Program

Program Overview

The “High-Level Postgraduates Program” is a sub-program under the Chinese Government Scholarship initiative. It follows the principles of “individual application, institutional recommendation, expert assessment, and selection based on merit,” aiming to select international students with outstanding academic backgrounds, strong professional capabilities, and significant future development potential. Below is a summary of the program:

  • Full-time postgraduates (Master’s and Doctoral candidates).

  • Prospective students for the September 2025 intake.

04. Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good mental and physical health.
  2. Master’s program applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree with excellent academic performance and be under the age of 35.
  3. Doctoral program applicants must hold a Master’s degree with excellent academic performance and be under the age of 40.
  4. Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must have an HSK Level 4 certificate.
  5. Applicants must meet the academic and language proficiency requirements of the applied university.

05. Scholarship Coverage

  • Scholarship details are subject to the information published on the “CSC Study in China” website: www.campuschina.org.

06. Application Documents

  1. Application Form for the Chinese Government Scholarship (completed in Chinese or English).
  2. Passport Copy (valid beyond September 2025).
  3. Notarized Highest Degree Certificate (or an expected graduation certificate if currently enrolled).
  4. Academic Transcripts (including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, if applicable, with an official stamp).
  5. Language Proficiency Proof:
    • HSK Level 4 certificate for Chinese-taught programs.
    • IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo certificate for English-taught programs.
  6. Study Plan (minimum 1,000 words, in Chinese or English). PhD applicants must have their study plan signed by a Chinese supervisor.
  7. Two Recommendation Letters (from professors or associate professors, in Chinese or English).
  8. Acceptance Letter from a CUMT professor (for Master’s and PhD applicants). Download the format and find supervisor contacts here.
  9. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (completed in English, valid for six months).
  10. Non-Criminal Record Report (issued within six months before submission).
  11. Guardian Documents (for applicants under 18 years old).

Note: All uploaded documents must be clear, authentic, and valid. Applicants are advised to use professional scanning devices to avoid submission issues.

07. Application Process

Step 1: Online Application

  1. Apply via the “CSC Study in China” website: www.campuschina.org.
  2. Select “Program Category: Type B” and enter CUMT’s Agency Number: 10290.
  3. Complete the “Language Proficiency and Study Plan” section, upload all required documents, and submit the application.

Step 2: Examination & Interview

  • Once the application is reviewed, CUMT will notify applicants via email regarding the exam and interview process.
