Fudan University invites international students, graduate researchers, and emerging scholars to join the 2025 International Summer School of Philosophy, hosted by its School of Philosophy and supported by Fudan’s Graduate School.
This year’s theme, “Early Chinese Philosophy in Comparative and Contemporary Perspectives,” explores the classical foundations of Chinese thought and their global relevance today.
Participants will engage in in-depth courses focused on key classical texts including:
- Analects
- Mencius
- Xunzi
- Mozi
- Daodejing
- Zhuangzi
- Han Feizi
Through comparative analysis with Western philosophical texts, students will examine how ancient Chinese thinkers addressed universal human questions, and why their ideas still matter today.
All courses will be taught in English by leading scholars in Chinese and comparative philosophy.

- No tuition or program fees
- Free accommodation (shared room) for 30 selected students
- Priority is given to students traveling from outside Shanghai and international applicants
